Bog Oak is from tree trunks that have lain in bogs and swamps for centuries and can be up to 8,500 years old and are handcrafted into handles for these beautiful safety razors. The oak becomes darkly stained and almost petrified from the tannins contained in the dark waters of the bogs and is truly unique and one of a kind. The Mach 3® head is nickel plated and highlight the tapered Bog Oak handle.
The Muehle company uses genuine Gillette® Mach 3® mechanisms that they re-finish and nickel plate before assembling with their genuine Bog Oak handles. With genuine gillette® mechanisms you can be assured perfect compatibility with Gillette® Mach3® or Mach 3 Turbo® blades plus long term trouble free usage. Most of the other companies, except Merkur, use cheaper knock-offs, made in China, instead of the Gillette® mechanism. The knock-offs are a different design and will not perform well over time.
The Mach 3® blade system, guarantees a very close and safe shave with the revolutionary triple blade system produced by Gillette. Three blades protected by guards and lubrication strips ensure smooth, safe shaving with one of the safest shaving systems available.
